Towing in Montgomery, AL

Montgomery Towing Co comes to the vehicle. The desk covers I-65 through the west side, I-85 toward EastChase, Eastern Boulevard, and the surface streets from Court Square out Atlanta Highway. Call, describe the spot, and hear the price before a truck is assigned.

Where a Montgomery Tow Actually Starts

I-65 is the north-south freeway on the west side of the city, from the Hope Hull exit at the Hyundai plant, past South Boulevard and Fairview Avenue, through the I-85 junction, and across the Alabama River toward Millbrook. The exits that change the job are South Boulevard, Fairview, Day Street at I-85, Herron and Clay downtown, and North Boulevard. Naming one of those is more useful than saying the car is somewhere on the west side.

Off the interstate, Eastern Boulevard carries the east-side retail traffic. Troy Highway runs south toward Pike Road. Wetumpka Highway runs north toward the Coosa. On a night at Riverwalk Stadium, Tallapoosa Street and the Alley belong in the same sentence as the exit number.

Day or night

A Dispatcher Answers, Including Overnight

Breakdowns on I-65, dead batteries in an EastChase row, and cars off the pavement along the Alabama River do not wait for a weekday. If the vehicle will not roll, or it is already in a ditch, say that. It may be a winch-out rather than a flatbed load, and the price should match the work.

From the Call to the Drop

  1. Pin the spot

Interstate and exit, or a surface street and a cross street. On I-65 and I-85, direction matters as much as the exit number.

  2. Hear the price, then we roll a truck

The figure is for the job you described. If the scene is different, dispatch calls before the work grows.

  3. Load it and take it where you asked

The driver checks clearance and which wheels will roll, then drops the vehicle at the shop or driveway you named, with an invoice.

What the Call Is Like

The number comes first

You hear a price on the phone, including after midnight, before a truck is assigned.

We meet the vehicle

There is no public counter and no street address to drive to. Describe the spot and we come to it.

A certificate when a shop asks

Shops, lots, and insurers can ask dispatch for proof of insurance. A license number is not posted on this site.

A person, not a mailbox

Overnight and holidays included. The phone is not a recording that promises a callback in the morning.

What the Trucks Are Set Up to Carry

Say what it is when you call. A commuter car at EastChase, a diesel near the Hope Hull exit, and a box truck on South Boulevard are not the same load.

CAR

Cars and crossovers

Daily drivers from Eastern Boulevard, EastChase, and the downtown decks. All-wheel drive rides on a flatbed.

TRK

Pickups

Work trucks and personal pickups, including diesels that need a real jump pack rather than a small booster.

SUV

SUVs

Family SUVs on I-85, Eastern Boulevard, and the interstate shoulders.

MC

Motorcycles

Bikes are strapped, not dragged. Say whether it is upright and whether a trailer is involved.

VAN

Vans and box trucks

Cargo vans and light box trucks on the east Montgomery frontage. Give the length. This is not a semi tow.

Towing and Recovery

Heavier work than a spare tire or a jump. Each job has its own page.

24/7

Emergency Towing

Montgomery does not go quiet at midnight. I-65 through the west side, the I-85 run toward EastChase, and Eastern Boulevard still have cars on the shoulder. A dispatcher answers, and you hear a price before anyone is sent.

ACC

Accident Towing

A crash tow has two jobs: clear the lane, and leave a record a shop or an insurer can use. The driver photographs the car before it moves.

Learn more →
BED

Flatbed Towing

When all four wheels need to be off the ground, the truck is a flatbed. That is the usual load for all-wheel drive, a missing wheel, or a car too low for a wheel-lift.

LD

Long-Distance Towing

Some vehicles should not be driven another exit, let alone another city. A long tow from Montgomery follows I-65, I-85, or whichever route actually reaches the address you give.

PVT

Private Property Towing

A vehicle blocking a fire lane, or sitting in an assigned space after the property has already given notice, is a private-property tow. It happens only when the person who controls the lot authorizes that vehicle.

WNC

Winch-Out

A winch-out is for a vehicle that is no longer on the pavement: a soft shoulder, a ditch, mud after a storm, or a car that will not roll onto a bed.

Roadside Help That Stays at the Car

Not every stop needs a tow. Lockouts, jump starts, fuel, and flat tires are handled at the vehicle when that is the whole problem.

KEY

Vehicle Lockout

Keys in the car at Court Square, in an EastChase row, or in a lot at the Alley are a lockout when the car itself does not need a tow.

JMP

Jump Start

If the engine will not crank and the vehicle is somewhere a technician can stand safely, a jump start is the job. If it starts and then dies, the conversation turns into a tow.

FUEL

Fuel Delivery

Fuel delivery is a few gallons of the fuel you name, enough to reach a station. It is not a full tank, and it is not priced like the pump.

TIRE

Flat Tire Change

A usable spare turns a flat into a roadside change. A missing spare, a shredded spare, or a bent wheel turns it into a flatbed ride to a tire shop you choose.

The Interstates, the Boulevard, and the River

I-65 runs north and south on the west side of Montgomery. From the south, exit 164 is US-31 at Hope Hull, the public-road exit for the Hyundai plant. Exit 167 is US-80 west, Selma Highway. Exit 168 is South Boulevard, where US-80 east and US-82 east head toward US-231 and US-331. Exit 170 is Fairview Avenue. Exit 171 is the I-85 junction and Day Street. Exit 172 is Herron Street and Clay Street for downtown. The highway then crosses the Alabama River. Exit 173 is North Boulevard, the link toward US-231.

I-85 begins at that I-65 junction and runs northeast. Exit 3 is Ann Street, toward Zelda Road. Exit 4 is Perry Hill Road. Exit 6 is East Boulevard, where US-231, US-80, and SR-21 cross. Exit 9 is Taylor Road, SR-271, for Auburn University at Montgomery and The Shoppes at EastChase. Exit 11 is Atlanta Highway and Chantilly Parkway, the other EastChase exit. US-80 rides with I-85 from East Boulevard out to exit 16 at Waugh.

Eastern Boulevard is the commercial loop on the east side, past Eastdale, and it carries US-231. South of EastChase, US-231 and US-82 run together as Troy Highway through Pike Road. North of town, US-231 is Wetumpka Highway toward the Coosa River. US-82 overlaps I-65 from South Boulevard up to Cobbs Ford Road at exit 179, on the Prattville and Millbrook line. Cloverdale and the Garden District sit east of downtown. The Capitol and Dexter Avenue are the downtown pins worth naming. The Alabama River is the water I-65 crosses north of downtown. Maxwell is the southwest side, on public roads outside the gate. Gunter Annex is the northeast side. On a night at Riverwalk Stadium, Tallapoosa Street, Commerce Street, and the Alley belong in the location, not just the interstate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need from me before a truck is sent?

Call (334) 336-6464 with the vehicle, the road, and what it is doing. On I-65 or I-85, add the exit and the direction. You hear a price before anyone is assigned. If the scene does not match that description, dispatch calls before the work changes.

Is a person answering at 3 a.m. and on holidays?

Yes. The same desk answers overnight, on weekends, and on holidays. You will not land in a mailbox that waits until morning.

Which Montgomery roads do you cover, and which towns?

Montgomery itself, including I-65 from Hope Hull across the Alabama River, I-85 out to Taylor Road and EastChase, Eastern Boulevard, South Boulevard, Troy Highway, and Wetumpka Highway. Town pages cover Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka, and Pike Road.

Can a shop or a property manager get proof of insurance?

Ask dispatch and we will send a certificate of insurance when a shop, a lot, or an insurer needs it. We do not publish a license number on this site.

Will you talk with my insurer after a wreck?

If you ask us to, we will speak with the adjuster and send the itemized invoice and the scene photos from the accident tow. We do not choose your body shop.

The car is in a ditch and will not roll. Is that a normal tow?

That is a winch-out. Tell dispatch how far the vehicle is from the pavement and whether it is upright. You will hear a recovery price before a truck is sent.

Can I drive the car to your lot?

There is no public counter and no street address to plug into a map. This is a service-area company. We come to the vehicle.
